Episode 57: Post Las Vegas Open 2018
In this episode, we talk about our experience at the Las Vegas Open 2018. We discuss our games and lessons learned from our games. We also talk about slow play, sportsmanship, and our plans for the 2018 ITC season.
How did the Battlehosts (and friends) do?
Mark went 3-2-1 (although one was a concession before the game started).
Matt went 4-1-1 and missed the top 8 by a point.
Aaron (Captain A) went 3-2-1 and Shaun went 4-2.
Lessons learned
Heavy terrain means you need ways to dig out infantry from buildings (indirect fire or assault).
More bodies and board control are important in the new ITC missions.
Need the ability to clear cheap units quickly off the board.
Sportsmanship
How can events encourage sportsmanship?
Playing Faster
Know your army and practice.
Use templates for ease of 9″ deepstrike, movement, and model coherency.
Use blocks of dice for quick rolling.
Play by intent.
Plans for next year
